Zinc for Weight Loss

Zinc is a vital mineral for human body. Zinc major benefits to boost up immune system, wound healing, hair loss control, anti-aging control, etc. Have you ever know how zinc helps your weight loss? Is zinc good for weigh loss?
Research suggests that zinc boosts fat-burning hormones leptin and thyroid by speeding up the metabolism, which helps induce fat loss. An adequate intake of zinc can actually help you to lose weight in a healthy fashion without going jym.
But exercising while taking zinc gives efficient results.

Zinc Boosts the Metabolism:
Researchers investigated the effects of low zinc intake on basal metabolic rate. According to research reported in the Journal of Nutrition in 1986, six participants ingested 16.5mg of zinc for 21 days before switching to 5.5mg for 54 days. Scientists discovered that subjects receiving 5.5mg of zinc had lower levels of basal metabolic rate than when they ingested the individuals who were administered increased amounts of zinc 16.5mg. Low zinc levels are associated with a decrease in basal metabolic rate, which reduces calorie burning.

Zinc Enhances Thyroid Hormone Production:
The thyroid hormone, which consists of triiodothyronine and thyroxine, plays a major role in fat loss, since it regulates the metabolism. Therefore, maximizing thyroid hormone production increases calorie burning and weight loss over time. According to research published in the 2007 issue of the Annals of Nutrition and Metabolism, researchers found that 26.4mg of zinc supplementation was directly correlated with an increase in thyroid hormone production.

Zinc Increases Leptin Output:
Like the thyroid, leptin is a hormone that enhances energy expenditure. It also reduces appetite by signaling to the brain that you are full. Researchers observed that participants given zinc supplementation experienced a significant increase in leptin output, according to a study reported in the December 1997 issue of the Journal of the American College of Nutrition.
